Manchester City – Will City Retain Their Premier League Crown?

The 2022-23 Premier League title race is shaping up to be one of the best ever. Arsenal and Manchester City have been battling away all season, and the fight for the title looks likely to go to the wire.

Man City Favorites to Edge Out Gunners

Man City has all the experience in the world when it comes to winning Premier League titles. Experience could be key in this year’s championship battle, and City are looking to retain their crown at Arsenal’s expense. Looking at the latest Premier League winner odds, Man City is currently the favorite at -225, while Arsenal is available at +180.

The Citizens and Gunners have been the two top dogs in the Premier League this season. Arsenal has taken many people by surprise, as the London side missed out on a top-four place last term and has not been champion of England since 2004.

In contrast, every soccer supporter would have expected Man City to be in this season’s title battle. Pep Guardiola’s men have been the team to beat since the Spaniard arrived in England, and City are looking for a seventh Premier League crown.

Liverpool finished runner-up in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League last term, but Jurgen Klopp’s team has had a year to forget this time around. Manchester United has a solid first season under Erik ten Hag, while Chelsea has massively underachieved. As for Tottenham Hotspur, they have blown hot and cold all year.

Who Will Hold Their Nerve?

As we enter the last few weeks of the thrilling 2022-23 Premier League season, who will hold their nerve and go on to become Premier League champion? Arsenal do not lose many, but Mikel Arteta’s men have dropped some valuable points of late.

They let a 2-0 lead slip in back-to-back games with Liverpool and West Ham United in April to draw 2-2 twice and drop four points. While the Gunners were slipping up, Man City has been in relentless form. The recent 3-1 win over Leicester City was the Manchester club’s tenth successive league and cup victory.

When the title rivals went head to head at the Emirates Stadium back in mid-February, Man City edged a frantic fixture. City went on to pick up a vital victory in London, running out deserved 3-1 winners. That was Arsenal’s first home defeat in the league since losing to Brighton & Hove Albion last April.

Arsenal travels to the Etihad Stadium in the standout Premier League game of the season later this month. The winner of that one is likely to go on to lift the title. It is just another day at the office for Guardiola’s men, but it will be one of the biggest games for Arsenal in decades.

Man City has taken the initiative and turned themselves into the Premier League title favorite after a stunning run of results. However, Arsenal will not give up the fight, and this title battle will no doubt go to the wire. Will the trophy be staying in Manchester, or heading to the capital?
