The Liverpool vs. New Balance kit sponsorship deal highlighted the extent of commercialization in football. Team jerseys of professional clubs often run into the millions. All ten Premier League jersey sponsorship deals are worth over a few hundred million pounds combined per year.

In this list, we rank the top 10 clubs based on their revenue from shirt sponsorships.

Top 10 shirt sponsorship deals in the Premier League

1.  Manchester United

The Red Devils are at the top of sponsorship deals in the EPL. Their current deal with Chevrolet generates £47 million per season. It is one of the largest deals in the sport and is valid untill 2021.

2.  Manchester City

Coming in a close second, Man City has been sponsored by Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways ever since Mansour bin Zayed obtained a leading stake in the club back in 2011. The deal earns the side £45 million per season, but there have been rumors of the number being fabricated to slide past the public eye.

3.  Liverpool FC

Standard Chartered has been The Reds’ official kit sponsor ever since 2010. The first deal was reportedly worth £160 million for four seasons, which puts Liverpool FC at par with the frontrunners on this list.

4.  Chelsea FC

The Blues have had numerous shirt sponsors over the years, but perhaps none as lucrative as their current sponsors Yokohama. The Japanese tire manufacturer reportedly pays a massive £40 million per season just to have their logo at the front of the shirt.

5.  Arsenal FC

The Gunners’ have donned the same jersey sponsors since 2006. The deal with Emirates is worth £200 million for five seasons. Let’s not forget Emirates doubles as the club’s stadium sponsor too!

6.  Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs agreed to sign a deal with insurance giant AIA in 2015 and the deal was further extended in 2017. AIA reportedly pays the club £35 million per season.

7.  West Ham United

The Hammers’ jersey has been sponsored by Betway since 2015 and the deal was last extended untill 2020. It is worth £10 million per season.

8.  Everton FC

The Toffees signed a contract with Kenyan gaming giant SportPesa at the end of 2019. The deal is worth £9.6 million per season, costing the company £48 million over five years.

9.  Newcastle United

After being promoted to the Premier League back in 2017, the Magpies signed a three-year contract with Fun88 for $19.5 million at £6.5 million per season.

10.  Crystal Palace

The Eagles signed a multi-year shirt sponsorship deal with gaming firm ManBatX in June 2017. The deal is worth a respectable £6.5 million per season.
