Bundesliga returns after 2 months

After a forced suspension for over 2 months, the Bundesliga is returning at the weekend with games on both the 16th and 17th of May.

As lockdowns around Europe continues to ease, Germany has taken the plunge being the first major football league to restart the season.

With other leagues around Europe still suspended or even cancelled, thousands of footy fans will tune in to the Bundesliga games to get their football fix.

Bundesliga table as it stands

As it stands, Bayern Munich are on course for another league title sitting four points ahead of Borussia Dortmund.

However, the season is far from over. With several tough fixtures remaining, there are still a number of teams that could realistically win the league with.

So who should you back?

Which teams to back?

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich – one of the league’s most popular teams are the title favourites as the season continues. However, it’s by no means a walk in the park with only four points between themselves and Borussia Dortmund in second.

Bayern Munich

A bet on Bayern Munich is certainly a strong option.

Borussia Dortmund

One of Europe’s most famous teams thanks to their passionate fans, Borussia Dortmund can never be written off and could prove to be a great choice.

After finishing two points behind Bayern Munich last season, Dortmund won’t want to finish runners-up again. Dortmund host Bayern Munich later on in May which could prove pivotal in the title fight.

If Dortmund can pick up where they left off, expect so see some fireworks as the season continues.

RB Leipzig

Having had a great season up until the lockdown, RB Leipzig is certainly a team to consider backing for the remainder of the season.

Sitting five points behind Munich, it’s all still to play for at the top of the league.

When will the Premier League return?

We can’t write a football article without mentioning the Premier League. Whilst there are currently no dates set for the return of the EPL, many pundits think the start of June is most likely.

We’re still waiting to find out whether teams will be able to play at their own grounds or whether ‘neutral’ stadiums will need to be used.

In the meantime, at least we’ve got some football to look forward to this weekend…

Who should you back?

Most punters will go for Bundesliga’s big hitters Bayern Munich. However, Borussia Dortmund could certainly prove to be a great option.
