ZenSports are one of the main US operators that are currently making plenty of noise in the American online gambling scene at the moment.
Although there is plenty of appeal from many of Europe’s biggest gambling operators because of the potential market that is available to them in regards to America, ZenSports appear to be the operator that is domestically based that wants to make a big move.
The operator could still be argued to be finding their feet in the US marketplace, however the international sports gambling exchange appear to have been able to transform their business into something a lot bigger.
They have just submitted their application to try and secure a sports gambling license to both Tennessee and Virginia.
Sportsbooks already involved
There are already four different sportsbooks involved and operating in the aforementioned states, with the likes of BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Action 247 all currently operating in the state of Tennessee.
There has also been some noise that other operators such as William Hill, who own and operate the Caesars Entertainment brand, Wynn Resorts and Churchill Downs’ Bet America are also considering making a move for sports gambling licenses in the state.
Other American-based sportsbooks, such as FanDuel have received financial backing from UK-owned gaming operators, such as Flutter Entertainment – who are behind both Paddy Power and Betfair – as they look to take advantage of the potential market opportunity available.
In addition, Uk-owned 888 Holdings have also looked to make noise in the American market by prepping entry into three more US states – with Colorado, Indiana and Iowa being targeted.
It is believed that there are around 12 licenses available in the state of Virginia, whilst at least four of them will be given out to those who are successful. However, it has been claimed that 25 operators had filed applications before the deadline, thus providing plenty of competition.
ZenSports keen to make a play
ZenSports are thought to be extremely serious in regards to securing themselves a foothold in the American sports betting market as it had recently been announced that they had been looking to buy a physical casino in Nevada – home to the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas.
It has been suggested that ZenSports had reached an agreement with Strategic Gaming Management to buy the Big Wheel Casino that is located in Lovelock, Nevada.
If the company are successful in their pursuit of a Tennessee and a Virginia license, it is then believed they will look to make progress in regards to entering the Colorado sports betting market as well.
How the states currently look
