Premier league football preview – Week 12 – 2018/19

Here’s another preview of the top 5 teams for this weekend’s Premier League football.

There’s a lot to look forward to this weekend, particularly on Sunday with the Manchester derby.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham

Sat 10/11 at 17:30

Crystal Palace host Tottenham in the later kick off on Saturday.

Having beaten Wolves away last weekend followed by a win in their midweek Champions League game, Tottenham are back to winnings ways.

However, they’ll have to do without the attacking prowess of Moussa Dembele after he suffered ankle ligament damage in last weekend’s game.

In more positive news for Spurs, both Eric Dier and Victor Wanyam have won their fitness battles and return to the starting line-up.

At the other end, Crystal Palace are in desperate need of a win, having won just 2 games in the opening 11 rounds.

With Tottenham’s brilliant away record so far this season, I feel this game is only going one way.

The smart moneys on a Tottenham win.

Liverpool vs Fulham

Sun 11/11 at 12:00

To kick things off on Sunday, Liverpool host Fulham in the early kick off.

Liverpool will be looking to get over their midweek loss in the Champions League so expect the players to be fired up.

In terms of injuries, Liverpool are nearly back to full strength with Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita all back in the fray.

On the other hand, Fulham have a couple of injury woes with Kevin McDonald and Joe Bryan expected to miss the clash.

For the neutral, I predict this isn’t going to be the most exciting of games. It’s going to be incredibly one sided.

Fulham are sitting at the bottom of the pile with only 1 win and 5 points out of the first 11 rounds.

The money’s definitely on a Liverpool win by a large margin.

Chelsea vs Everton

Sun 11/11 at 14:15

Having pipped Liverpool into second place in the table thanks to a slightly better goal difference, Chelsea will be looking to continue their brilliant form under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea recall their senior players who were rested for their midweek game including the likes of Eden Hazard.

However, Everton will be no easy opponents. Sitting just above mid table and benefitting from the return of Phil Jagielka and James McCarthy, the Toffees won’t be a walkover.

On the other hand, Everton haven’t won in 28 games at Stamford Bridge so it will be tough test for the Blues.

Arsenal vs Wolverhampton

Sun 11/11 at 16:30

With a great draw against Liverpool in their last Premier League outing, Arsenal are looking a stronger team as time goes on.

However, The Gunners have a number of injury woes after their midweek game against Sporting Lisbon in which Danny Welbeck suffered a horrible ankle injury and Stephan Lichtsteiner was forced off with a hamstring injury.

At the other end, Wolves have had a run of poor results over the last three weeks or so which they’ll be trying to put behind them.

Arsenal fans will be expecting the full three points from this game.

Arsenal are the sure bet.

Man City vs Man Utd

Sun 11/11 at 16:30

It’s the Manchester derby…

Man City host the first head to head this season.

With a number of injury woes for each team, this should be a brilliant match.

Man City are missing Kevin de Bruyne, Eliaquim Mangala and Claudio Bravo of whom all are long term injuries. However, Man City welcome back Sergio Aguero to the starting line up after being rested for the midweek game against Shakhtar Donetsk.

Manchester United are likely to miss Romelu Lukaku unless he passes a fitness test before the game. We wait to hear news on whether Paul Pogba will play after missing training on Friday.

If Man City play the way they did against Shakhtar, you can be sure they’ll take all three points from the derby.

Either way, this is going to be an awesome game!

I’m going for a Man City win.
