Premier league football preview – Week 11 – 2018/19

The title race is still very open with arguably 5 teams that could win the league. I don’t think there’s been a more competitive start to the Premier League in a long while.

Here’s a preview of the top 5 teams and their games this weekend.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Sat 03/11 at 17:30

The first to kick things off in terms of the top 5 is the showdown between Arsenal and Liverpool at the Emirates.

Without a doubt, this is going to be an awesome game… The perfect way to finish off your Saturday.

Arsenal come into the game with slightly better form in terms of results from all competitions, however, don’t write off Liverpool.

They’re not joint leaders of the Premier League for no reason. They’ve had some awesome results in the last few games putting 4 goals past the last two teams they played (Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City).

With Mohamed Salah in the form he is, he’s bound to cause some issues for the Arsenal defence.

In terms of the league this is vital for each team, and could have a significant swing on the title contenders.  You’d expect Man City to take all 3 points in their game with Southampton. So the pressures on Liverpool!

My money’s on a 2-2 draw.

Wolves vs Tottenham

Sat 03/11 at 19:45

Wolves host Tottenham in the late kick off on Saturday.

Having lost at home to Man City in their last Premier League outing, Tottenham will be looking for a strong performance. However, Pochettino won’t have the surface to blame in this game.

Unfortunately for Spurs fans, the likes of Eric Dier, Victor Wanyam, Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen have all been ruled out leaving a sizeable gap in their squad.

Having only let in 9 goals in the league so far this season, Wolves will be tough to breakdown.

Thankfully for Spurs fans, they don’t score many at the other end.

The smart moneys on a Tottenham win.

Man City vs Southampton

Sun 04/11 at 15:00

To kick things off on Sunday, Man City host Southampton at the Etihad.

Man City remain in the top spot thanks to a superior goal difference over Liverpool. Having won 4 and drawn 1 in the last 5 games, City are looking strong.

With Kevin De Bruyne out for up to 6 weeks with an injury after their League Cup win over Fulham, Southampton can breathe a little more easily.

But squad depth is where Man City shine above the rest.

At the other end of the table, Southampton are struggling to find any or much form. They need some good results to haul themselves from the bottom of the table.

However, Southampton will struggle against the best team in the league therefore Man City are a sure bet for this one.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Sun 04/11 at 16:00

To end the weekend Chelsea host Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon.

As I mentioned above, the title race is still well and truly open with Chelsea sitting just 4 points away from Man City at the top.

Chelsea fans will be excited to hear Eden Hazard is likely to play some part in the game after recovering from a back injury and Ross Barkley is likely to return after being rested for the midweek game against Derby.

Crystal Palace’s injury list is looking quite long with Christian Benteke, Scott Dann, Joel Ward and Connor Wickham all sitting out.

I doubt Crystal Palace will end Chelsea’s unbeaten start to the Premier League this season.

Therefore, Chelsea at home should be a solid bet.

There are bound to be some great matched betting offers available for the first game of the weekend.
