It was clear Mayweather’s skills were still superior even though he had retired from boxing two years ago.
In his true spirit, McGregor believed the referee stepped in too early to stop the fight. He said ‘I get a little wobbly when I’m tired, it is fatigue, the referee could have let it keep going, let the man put me down.’
What’s Next for McGregor?
McGregor said before the fight he wasn’t sure whether he would go back to UFC after the boxing fight with Mayweather. After being out skilled he said he wasn’t sure what the next step for him was.
Mayweather said that it was to be his last dance. With the win he managed to take his overall boxing record to an undefeated 50-0, beating the legendary fighter Rocky Marciano’s 49-0. There’s no doubt, after this latest win, that he’s further etched his name into the list of all time greats of boxing.
