Man City on a rampage – What are the odds they make the quadruple?

Manchester City are on an absolute rampage this season. They’re flying in all competitions and I can’t see anyone stopping them anytime soon. They’re well on course to complete the unprecedented quadruple.

What is the quadruple?

The quadruple refers to winning all four of the major trophies in English football in one season. This includes:

  • The Premier League
  • The FA Cup
  • The Carabao Cup
  • The Champions League

Winning all four trophies has never been achieved by an any club in one season. So Man City can potentially rewrite the record books if they continue their current form. With the huge number of games top flight football teams play each season, winning all four trophies is incredibly difficult. The strength in depth of the squad is vital and Man City are clearly doing something right.

Premier League

Man City have pretty much already wrapped up the Premier league. They’re 16 points ahead with only 11 games remaining. It would take a miracle for them not to win the league at this stage. Unlike other competitions, there is no stupid play-off to decide the ultimate winner.

Man City can potentially break another record – winning the league by the highest number of points. The current record stands at 18 set by Man Utd back in the 1999/00 season. Man City need to win by 19 or more to rewrite the history books. Currently they’re leading by 16 however, they’re predicted to win the league by up to 26 points!

Man City score an average of 2.93 goals per game. If they keep this up, they’ll beat Chelsea’s record for the most gaols in a Premier league season which stands at 103.

The blue’s next game in the Premier League is against Arsenal at the Etihad stadium.

FA Cup

The FA cup is also proving too easy for the Blues. They meet League 1 side, Wigan Athletic in the last 16 on Monday night. Wigan may have knocked out West Brom in the last round, but how will they fare against a much stronger Man City team?

Chelsea, Tottenham and Man Utd all remain in the FA cup and I’m sure they’ll have something to say about Man City winning.

Carabao Cup

Man City face Arsenal in the final of the Carabao Cup a week on Sunday. However, this Arsenal team will have something to prove after being knocked out of every other competition. This is the last piece of silverware they can get their hands on this season.

To add to the excitement, Pep Guardiola has never won a trophy in England. Could this be his first? Man City certainly go in as favourites but they also have the most to lose.

Champions League

Man City cruised through to the last 16 of the Champions League and were drawn against Basel in the first of the knock-out stages. Typical for the current Man City team, this proved too easy. They won 4-0 away from home on Tuesday night. Basel are no walk over either. They’re currently sitting second in the Swiss Super league, just 5 points behind the leaders, Young Boys.

Winning the Champions League is probably the hardest task on Man City’s run to the coveted quadruple. They could face the likes of PSG or Bayern Munich as the tournament progresses.

However, if Man City continue to play with the same amount of confidence as they currently are, I don’t think anyone will stop them winning the Champions League or the quadruple for that matter.

Betting odds for Man City quadruple

So, what are the odds on Man City completing the record breaking quadruple?

Coral

Coral price the Blues at 10/1 (11.0) to complete the quadruple. They had them at 300/1 at the start of the season. I’m sure there’s a few punters out there who stuck a tenner on this outcome.

Bet365

Bet365 price Man City at a somewhat different 33/1 (34.0) to achieve the quadruple. Here’s what Steve Freeth from Bet365 said about Man City back at Christmas:

‘It’s a little bit concerning to see Manchester City still fighting on all four fronts at Christmas but we’ll be clinging to the hope that they’ll become complacent somewhere down the line. If not, it will be very expensive!’

BetVictor

BetVictor are pricing Man City at 16/1 (17.) to win all four trophies this season.

Matched betting on Man City

If I was a gambler, I would certainly be staking money on Man City to complete the quadruple. However, I’m not into gambling. I prefer to use no risk matched betting to make a guaranteed profit from bookies free bets and promotions.

Because we know the outcome of our bets before the event has started, we can usually place our matched bets on anything.

Here at The Sure Bettor, we always recommend members mix up their matched betting. Although placing bets on football games is incredibly easy, it can sometimes be rather tedious. That’s when we suggest you place bets on other sports like horse racing, Tennis and Rugby. Check out this article for more information on the best sports to place your matched bets.
