Arsenal’s hopes of silverware dashed
Arsenal’s hopes of winning some silverware this season were dashed by a strong Man City performance specifically in the second half. Arsene Wenger’s men will have to wait until next season for another chance to win a trophy. That’s if Wenger makes it until then. With the way managers are hired and fired in this day and age anything could happen.
Going into the game it was likely that Man City would be too strong for an Arsenal team that had only scored 6 goals going into the final. With the attacking skill of Kevin de Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and David Silva up front, they’re always going to score quite a few goals. Before the game the odds were highly stacked in Man City’s favour. The bookies were right to predict a Man City win.
It’s fair to say the first goal Man City scored was far too easy. Through some terrible defending, Sergio Aguero ended up one on one with the goalkeeper and he finished it off beautifully with a chip over the keepers head.
