Football Index tips

Before we dive into our Football Index tips, here’s a short introduction for those of you who haven’t heard of it before.

What is Football Index?

Football Index is an online platform where individuals trade footballers and buy shares in players

It’s like a stock market just for football. How awesome is that…

As we’ll see later, you can make money buying and selling your favourite players on the Index. In simple terms, the aim is to buy low and sell high.

As you can see, Football Index is not your average betting company. The guys behind the platform wanted to challenge traditional bookmakers with a more transparent model.

That means there’s more in it for you, the trader. By buying shares in a player, you’re betting on their future performance.

Founded back in 2015, Football Index has become incredibly popular with football fans up and down the country. There are hundreds of thousands of traders who buy and sell footballers on a regular basis.

So now we know more about Football Index and what it is, let’s check out how it works.

How does Football Index work?

Football Index works by allowing traders to buy shares in footballers playing in different leagues across Europe.

When you buy shares in a player, you’ll also receive dividends.

What are dividends I sense you thinking?

Dividends are daily payouts earned by your players based on the following criteria:

  • Performances in games
  • Media presence

Performances in games

The better your players perform on the pitch, the higher the dividend they earn each matchday.

Players are given points based on the Match Day Scoring Table which we’ll look at below.

To be eligible, your footballer must play in one of the following competitions:

  • Premier League
  • La Liga
  • Bundesliga
  • Serie A
  • Ligue 1
  • Champions League
  • Europa League
  • Euro 2020

Matchday points scoring

As I mentioned earlier, players receive points and are ranked based on the Points Scoring Matrix (below).

For example, a player receives 45 points for a goal or 20 points for an assist.

Football Index scoring matrix

A player’s total score is multiplied by 1.25 when playing in the Champions League or Europa League.

Once players have been ranked, matchday dividends are paid out to the top defender, top midfielder, top forward and star player.

The star player is the top overall points scorer on a given matchday. Therefore, if you have shares in one of these players you will receive a payout.

Media presence

Similarly, your players can also earn dividends based on their media presence.

Football Index monitors a wide range of news feeds including Talksport, Sky Sports and Huffington Post to name a few.

Football Index media presence

The more a player is mentioned in articles and news outlets, the more points they score.

At the end of each day, players are ranked. Media dividends are then paid out to the top three scorers on non-matchdays and the top scorer on matchdays.

In-play dividends

A new feature that Football Index have introduced allows you to earn in-play dividends for the first 30 days of owning shares in a player.

Players can earn dividends on the following three criteria:

  • Per goal
  • Per assist
  • Per clean sheet

To continue receiving in-play dividends, you must renew your shares after 30 days.

Obviously the more shares you own, the higher the dividend for eligible players.

Overall, Football Index has created a very simple system to calculate dividends and payouts. Whilst it may take some time to get your head around at first, you’ll soon get the hang of it.

Buying and selling on Football Index

One of the reasons Football Index has become so popular is the ability to make money via the platform.

As Football Index is an online stock market, you can buy and sell players as well as earn a dividend. This adds another dimension in which you can make a profit.

The aim is to buy low and sell high. Easier said than done but for those of you with great football knowledge, this should be great fun!

If you trade wisely and use our tips below you can make a nice profit using this Football Index strategy.

Football Index tips to maximise your profit

Now you know a little more about this platform and how it works, let’s look at our top Football Index tips you can use to maximise your income in 2020 and beyond.

Tip #1 – Stay up to date with football news

Whether you’re placing bets on football, or buying and selling players on the Index, you need to stay up to date with the latest news.

You should look out for any team news, big announcements, key injuries etc. that affect the main leagues across Europe.

Thankfully technology and the internet has made your job incredibly easy. There’s a huge range of football websites and other media outlets where you can find important information.

Sky Sports News

Another great tip is to watch fan TV on YouTube for example.

Overall, keeping up to speed with the latest news will allow you to make better trades on Football Index.

If you see some bad press around a certain player, you may want to sell your shares. But remember, bad press still gets your player in the media meaning they may earn media presence dividends.

Alternatively, you may want to buy shares in what may be a rising star.

Whatever it is, the more knowledge you have, the more informed decisions you can make regarding your players. This ultimately affects how much profit you can make.

Tip #2 – Focus on the big teams

Our second Football Index tip is to focus on the big teams across the main leagues in Europe.

With all due respect, there is little point researching and paying attention to teams like Norwich, who sit at the bottom of the Premier League at the time of writing.

You need to maximise your earnings by sticking with stronger teams like Liverpool, Man City, Barcelona etc.

Man City football

That’s where you’ll find the highest performing players who will earn the best dividends and have the highest values.

Obviously this comes at a cost as the share prices for these players will be significantly higher.

Tip #3 – Use the Football Index academy

Our next tip is to use the Football Index academy.

When you’re new at anything, it takes time to get used to how something works. Football Index makes this incredibly easy by offering an entire learning academy.

Here you’ll have access to a huge range of articles, videos and other tutorials explaining how to use Football Index along with the best ways to profit from dividends or through buying and selling.

I thoroughly recommend you use this academy, especially when you’re just getting started.

Tip #4 – Spread your risk

As any bettor or financial trader will tell you, it’s important to spread your risk. This is something you should consider doing in your Football Index strategy.

If one player lets you down, you’ll have other, different players who should pick up the slack. Therefore I recommend you don’t pick too many players from the same team.

It takes some serious bad luck for all your players to drop in value. Overall, the more you spread your risk across various players and leagues, the safer your money is.

Tip # 5 – Use a spreadsheet

If you’re a regular reader of The Sure Bettor, you’ll know how much we love spreadsheets for your entire betting strategy.

They make important data very easy to find meaning you’ll be able to act on recent team news and other information more quickly.
