Cricket betting tips for 2023

There is a lot to look forward to in cricket in 2023, with a Cricket World Cup, Ashes series, and several franchise T20 leagues set to take place around the world.

We’ve looked at all those competitions and come up with the best betting tips for the calendar year in cricket.

Pretoria Capitals to win SA20 (+300)

The Pretoria Capitals have got off to a fantastic start to the 2023 SA20, the inaugural South African T20 league. They have won three of their opening four matches, showcasing why they are strong contenders to lift the trophy.

With Phil Salt and Will Jacks opening the batting, the Capitals have a lot of firepower at the top end of their batting line-up. They also have one of the strongest bowling attacks in the competition, with Wayne Parnell, Anrich Nortje, Adil Rashid, and James Neesham.

As of January 19, Pretoria is +300 in cricket betting to lift the trophy at SA20. With a strong run rate, and lots of points on the board already, they have a great chance of making history by becoming the first winners of the competition.

Gujarat Titans to win IPL (+500)

It was a dream debut in the IPL for the Gujarat Titans in 2022. They finished top of the group standings with 20 points from 14 games, while in the playoffs, they beat the Rajasthan Royals twice to lift the trophy.

The Titans have put together one of the strongest rosters in cricket. It is led by Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. His batting line-up includes David Miller, Shubman Gill, Kane Williamson, and Matthew Wade.

Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph, Rashid Khan, and Odean Smith make up the Titans’ bowling attack. Those players should have more success in 2023 with the ball on the Indian pitches.

As of January 19, Gujarat can be backed at +500 to defend their title and become only the third back-to-back winners of the IPL, matching what the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians have achieved.

England to win the Ashes (+120)

England plays hosts to rivals Australia in the Ashes this summer. Coached by Brendon McCullum, England is one of the in-form teams in Test cricket, as they have won nine of their last 11 matches.

Under McCullum and captain Ben Stokes, England changed their approach to the game in 2022. They made a conscious decision to play aggressively, and that gameplay has helped them to pick up series wins at home to New Zealand and South Africa, while during the winter, they won a three-match series in Pakistan.

Australia will be the toughest opponent England has faced in the McCullum and Stokes era, however, they will have home advantage, with the wickets suiting them. As of January 19, they are +120 in the betting to win the series, and this represents a great chance to win back the famous Urn for the first time since 2015.

India to win 2023 Cricket World Cup (+240)

England took advantage of home conditions to win the Cricket World Cup in 2019. India gets the chance to prevail in front of their home supporters at the latest renewal of the biggest tournament in the sport in 2023.

The home side has a depth of talent in their limited-overs teams, and they showed during 2022 that they are a strong force. They had impressive away series wins over England and West Indies.

Rohit Sharma’s side could not get the job done in the Asia Cup or T20 World Cup in 2022, but in the 50 overs game, they have more time to assert their dominance. In Gill and Suryakumar Yadav, they have two players who could be stars at their home event.

Gill recently scored a double century on Indian soil against New Zealand to do his chances of selection no harm, while Yadav comes off the best year of his career. Those two players will be joined in a strong batting line-up by Sharma, Pandya, and Virat Kohli.

As of January 19, India has opened as the +240 favorite to come out on top in November and it is hard to look past them in the subcontinent.

Enjoy all the action in 2023, it looks set to be an exciting year around the world in the sport.
